After five years, the school was once again proclaimed as Caloocan’s large category school Best Implementer of Brigada Eskwela 2017 and earned the honor to represent the division in the region.

Mrs. Chedita Pericon, the overall Chairman of Brigada observed that Bayanihan came alive last School Maintenance Week from day one to day five.

MR. EUGENE P. MAPULA ADJUDGED AS “NATATANGING GURO 2017”

Being a teacher isn’t easy as we, students think. This year, Mr. Eugene P. Mapula, one of the teachers in Araling Panlipunan who has been teaching since 2002 at Caybiga High School, was recognized as the NATATANGING GURO in the National Capital Region (NCR).

At first, he said that he was surprised and excited to accept the award for it is not an ordinary award. It became his inspiration to teach, work harder, strive for the best, modify all the projects that he’s been doing and to pursue the advocacy of integrity and social responsibility of the Office of the Ombudsman.

Sir “Dyen” as he is often called by his beloved students. In the classroom, he is known to be strict. As he enters the door, his students find all means to be ready and prepared on the lesson that will take. However, behind his strict personality, he is definitely loved by his students. They will never forget the life lessons that he shared; they will always reminisce the lessons they took. To them, he is an epitome of knowledge and character.

In school, he is always busy as a bee. He is always the foal person of the varied activities this academe has. He is a speaker most of the time during the Mid- Year and Summer In-Service trainings of the teachers. He is always an invited resource speaker to many schools in Caloocan City. Also, a demonstration teacher especially when there is an innovation in the curriculum.

Recently, he attended the Senior High School (SHS) Regional Training of Trainers (RTOT) held in Subic, Zambales City.

Another point worth noting is his support on the advocacy of the Ombudsman on integrity and social responsibility. In many events that he undertake he emphasized integrity in leadership. Symposium is one avenue that strengthens the awareness of integrity. It is coupled with “Honesty Store,” Asignatulong and other related programs that he implemented together with his students leaders. Community with other stakeholders made the program possible

Further, he heightens the student’s consciousness on social responsibility. The conduct of “Pakaridad” in the community together with the stakeholders made the program possible through his leadership. He is an avenue towards the realization of the goal- to alleviate our fellowmen from poverty.  A social responsibility that must be inculcated in us.

What is more worth considering  too is his tiresome efforts for hiss fellow teachers such as leading the World Teacher’s Day celebration that really made the day of the teachers but, to him he will never be tired when it is your heart desires.

Taking all these things into consideration , he is the only ONE, the church servant, the  public servant, the PRIDE of Caybiga High School----is now “ ANG NATATANGING GURO 2017.”
